This position is in support of the Web Team. The Senior Computer Programmer/Developer will serve as technical lead and assist the government project lead in defining requirements for new efforts, providing technical recommendations, and managing multiple priorities of a small development team. The developer will participate in the software development activities required to support current and new requirements and initiatives. The developer will also work closely with other Web Team members to stay current on technologies and software standards. This position will support several efforts currently underway using mobile technologies and will provide development standards in compliance with mobile code policy. Primary responsibilities include new development and maintenance of existing applications.
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.
10-15 years of related experience in web software development.
This position needs solid knowledge of the Software Development Life-cycle to support development efforts, to include requirements gathering, documentation, and other duties to perform SDLC activities.
This position also requires experience working in a fast moving, high-pressure, team-oriented environment plus the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. The person needs to be flexible and dynamic as priorities and management decisions of these projects can change daily. Qualified candidate needs a firm understanding of software configuration management tools (such as: Visual Source Safe, Borland Star Team, or any enterprise level version control system.), as well as development of web-based software applications in general.
Candidate should have experience in developing web based applications using:
- Adobe's ColdFusion 8 or higher
- Frameworks including Fusebox 4.1 or higher
- .NET - Familiarity with .Net 1.1 or 2.0, .Net 3.5
- Object-oriented programming principles
- MVC and other common design patterns
- Experience in developing 508 Compliant sites and applications
- Database design/development using SQL Server 2005 or higher to design databases, develop stored procedures and triggers
- Experience with Mobile code technologies, Sencha Touch, JSON, REST web services a plus
- Dot Net Nuke experience a plus.
- Java experience a plus.
- Oracle experience a plus.
- Experience with PHP, Ruby or other web application language a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills are essential for this position as the developer will be required to work with other teams, end users and directly with government and military customers.
